We are seeking a Senior Carer/Team lead who is a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver. You must be able to drive for this role as you will be required to carry out care alongside your office hours.
The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, dementia care, and end of life care, ensuring a high standard of patient care in various settings, including assisted living facilities and private homes. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through attentive and personalised care.
Duties
* To carry out Spot checks on a Team of staff
* to carry out supervisions on a team of staff
* to visit clients to review care plans
* To take part in the out of hours on call as per the rota
* To assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each client's specific needs.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behaviour.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
* Support clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Skills
* Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
* Experience in senior care, dementia care, hospice care, and patient care is highly desirable.
* Experience with being on call out of hours
* Proficient in medication administration and monitoring client health.
* Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist clients with mobility challenges.
* A valid driving licence is ESSENTIAL for transporting clients as needed.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for success in this role.
* Display a friendly disposition and be approachable.
