The practitioner team covers several different sites, wards, and departments within the business unit.
The practitioner's role is to provide independent, advanced clinical assessment and management of patients from admission to discharge. This role involves working independently of medical staff or remote assistance.
This post is to work within the Gynaecology team and support the Emergency Gynaecology Unit at Northumbria Hospital, to gain clinical experience and knowledge. The post holder is expected to work at other sites within the organisation during training.
This post falls within the provisions of Agenda for Change Annex 20 - Development of Professional Roles, whereby upon completion of an agreed set of competencies, you may move onto the next pay band without applying for a higher-level post.

Responsibilities include:
1. Providing skilled and knowledgeable care and advice to patients and their carers.
2. Completing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of direct care to patients.
3. Prescribing medications appropriately.
4. Working with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
5. Engaging with external agencies to provide high-quality services for patients and their carers.
6. Contributing to the development of high-quality services within Northumbria Healthcare.
7. Role modeling compassionate and inclusive leadership to foster a collective leadership culture within the trust, demonstrating engagement, empowerment, coaching for ownership of learning and quality improvement, and facilitating teamwork and collaboration across organisational boundaries.
