Lancashire Constabulary is looking for a Kitchen Team Leader to join our team. The role is primarily based at Hutton Headquarters, but will also cover Divisional Headquarters at Blackpool, Blackburn Greenbank and Preston when needed.
The purpose of this role is to support the Catering Services Supervisor with menu planning and ensure stock levels are maintained in line with the stock control sheets. The Kitchen Team Leader will prepare meals and services at the required times, using agreed methods and portion controls to meet performance and quality targets. They will also ensure adequate hot and cold food provisions during service times and lead and inspire catering assistants to maximise performance and well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the catering function within the specific catering facility.
* Plan and design menus, schedule recipes, and ensure sufficient stock for daily food provisions; order additional stock within the meal allowance budget in conjunction with the Catering Services Supervisor.
* Liaise with the Cost Controller for stock ordering and replenishment, ensuring usage stays within required limits.
* Prepare meals daily, batch‑cook as appropriate, and hold food at proper temperatures to meet food hygiene regulations and service times.
* Provide guidance and direction to catering assistants undertaking food preparation duties.

Skills And Experience
* Food Hygiene and Safety qualification, Level 3.
Vetting And Medical
Successful applicants must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). A minimum of 3 years UK residency is required, and applicants must be 18 years old or older at the time of application. Successful candidates will also be subject to a medical assessment. The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.
