The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as an Administration Manager, playing a key role in supporting high-quality, patient centred care across Acute Services. You will lead and develop a professional administrative service that enables clinical teams to deliver safe, effective and timely care. Working within one of the UK’s largest health boards, you will be part of a values-driven organisation committed to dignity, respect and continuous improvement. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

* Glasgow Royal Infirmary
* Fixed-term for 12 months
* Monday to Friday


Key Responsibilities

* Manage and lead secretarial, administrative and clerical teams within a designated clinical service
* Provide day-to-day operational leadership, including recruitment, performance, attendance and staff development
* Plan, review and improve administrative processes to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
* Monitor staffing resources and budgets, ensuring services meet clinical and operational demands
* Implement and monitor standard operating procedures, key performance indicators, and patient administration standards
* Work closely with clinical managers, governance leads and stakeholders to support service redesign and improvement


Qualifications

* Significant administration management experience within an NHS acute hospital environment
* Proven experience of supervising and managing administrative and clerical staff
* Excellent understanding of patient administration procedures, NHS systems and data standards
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and patient administration systems
* In-depth knowledge of GDPR, patient confidentiality and information governance requirements
* Excellent organisational communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead
* Ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and remain calm under pressure
