A leading Defence organisation is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their Helicopters division in Yeovil on a long-term contract.
Role: Buyer
Pay: Up to £25 p/hr (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
Duration: 9-12 month contract
Location: Yeovil
Working Pattern: Hybrid 2 days (fully onsite requirement for first 2 weeks)This role will play an integral part in keeping critical operations moving, managing supplier relationships, placing purchase orders, and driving procurement performance.
What you'll be doing:
Managing the end-to-end purchasing process for critical components and services
Handling RFQs, supplier negotiations, and purchase order placement
Ensuring accuracy and compliance across all purchasing documentation
Liaising and negotiating with suppliers.
Collaborating closely with internal teams across Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to support smooth business operationsThis is a hands-on role that offers the perfect balance of responsibility and autonomy.
What we're looking for:
Experience within Aerospace, Defence or a similar environment
Experience in RFQs, supplier management, and PO processing
Advanced excel skills (Formulas, VLOOKUPs)
Experience with suppliers
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in purchasing documentation
