Into Opera is delighted to launch a new Musician in Residence scheme for three primary schools near Norwich.
This is an opportunity for passionate, freelance musicians to share their skills and expertise with the next generation and to support Into Opera in championing the importance of the arts in primary schools.
We are looking for individuals with experience:
* Working in education and community environments
* Leading choirs
* Selecting repertoire for different age groups
* Devising primary-level music composition opportunities
* Running 1-1 instrumental and/or voice lessons
* Developing exciting ideas to inspire communities about music making
We look forward to hearing from artists with different expertise, and we are open to being inspired about the different music possibilities that they could bring to these schools.
We will be as flexible as possible to try and work around work complements and fits work-life as a professional musician and educationalist is something we will be interested to explore at interview.
In Return
A competitive hourly/day rate, dependent on experience
For anyone based over 25 miles away from the schools, travel expenses will be supported.
Budget will be available to support the Musician(s) in Residence to occasionally bringing in guest artists, to purchase tickets for school trips and live events which complement their work, to purchase instruments for the schools in addition to any resources / teaching materials.
