Overview
We are looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our residential property team in Exeter. The role is part‑time, 21 hours a week, including Fridays.
In this position you will support residential transactions and deliver a first‑class client service, focusing mainly on onboarding and Anti‑Money‑Laundering (AML) compliance processes.
Responsibilities
* Onboard clients and open files in compliance with AML and SRA requirements.
* Manage files, schedule deeds and documents, complete the archiving process and ensure e‑filing compliance.
* Adhere to internal policies, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain and review files regularly.
* Ensure the preparation of client accounts and bills complies with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
* Draft contracts, initial letters, protocol forms and completion statements.
* Submit property searches and Land Registry searches.
* Prepare and submit Land Registry applications via the Land Registry portal.
* Manage post‑exchange and completion formalities.

Our residential conveyancing team specialises in high‑end residential properties, large country estates and complex purchases in London and the South West. Clients often return for subsequent transactions, and we pride ourselves on personal, stress‑free service.

* Previous experience in residential property work is desirable.
* Experience in a client‑facing role.
* Demonstrated delivery of exceptional customer service standards.
* Experience of working to compliance and file maintenance procedures.
