Job Summary
As a Ramp Agent at GH London Ground Handling Services Ltd, you will be a vital part of our ground operations team, responsible for providing safe and efficient aircraft handling services. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment to ensure the timely and accurate servicing of aircraft while adhering to safety regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft holds.
* Disconnecting the Towbar from the aircraft.
* Baggage Sorting and transportation
* Ensure items are handled securely and in compliance with airline and airport regulations.
* Operate ground support equipment, including baggage carts, belt loaders, High Loaders and aircraft tugs.
* Provide headset support during the turnaround
* Lifting baggage of up to 32kg
* Pushing / pulling of heavy carts
* Working at Height – in the hold of the aircraft
* Working in confined spaces – within small hold
Safety and Compliance
* Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain compliance with airport security regulations and ensure training received is applied in your everyday duties.
* Conduct pre- and post-operation checks on equipment and aircraft servicing.
* Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or operational issues promptly.
Teamwork and Communication
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
* Communicate effectively with other departments, including flight crew and dispatch teams, to meet operational deadlines.
The above responsibilities are not exhaustive, and you will be expected to adhere to any reasonable management request.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Valid UK driver's license (Category B) with a clean driving record. (Essential)
* Physical fitness to lift and move heavy loads (up to 32 kg) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
Preferred Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Previous experience in ramp handling, ground services, or airport operations.
* Familiarity with ground support equipment and airport safety procedures.
* Awareness of Health and Safety (H&S) and Manual Handling regulations.
