We are currently seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Practitioner/Health Care Assistant to join our busy Outpatients.
The Role
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate high standards of expertise in casting, plastering and bracing techniques, providing technical and professional support for fracture and orthopaedic clinics, wards, podiatry and theatres.
Where you’ll be based
The Cherwell Hospital opened in 2006 and provides convenient, effective, high quality treatment for patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis whether medically insured, self-pay or funded by the NHS. Equipped with an onsite Imaging Department offering X-Ray, Ultrasound and MRI and a dedicated Physiotherapy Unit complete with rehabilitation gym, The Cherwell Hospital is perfectly designed for orthopaedic care.
What you’ll bring with you
1. British Orthopaedic Association qualification and registration
2. Significant post registration experience
3. British Casting Certificate
4. Involvement in audits including evaluating new products taking into account resources and quality
Additional Skills
5. To be competent in the safe application, adjustment and removal of plasters in the fracture/orthopaedic clinic additionally ensuring provisions are available for other departments and wards as prescribed by medical or nursing staff.
6. To work autonomously in plaster led clinics
7. To remove sutures and clips and k-wires from wounds, apply simple wound dressings and recognise symptoms of wound infections or inflammation and report to the nurse in charge.
