Description
In this role you will be supported through the Level 3, Civil Engineering Apprenticeship via Solihull College or University Centre or Level 4 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship via Coventry University, depending on qualifications to date. As part of the apprenticeship, you will attend technical college or university on a day release programme (from September 2026) to undertake the theoretical engineering qualification supported by a learning mentor for completion of the apprenticeship and end point assessment (EPA).
You will learn from, and be mentored by, senior members of the team, you will develop positive relationships with colleagues through good professional conduct and be encouraged to learn new design trends / design techniques (BIM etc.). You will also be able to develop knowledge and experience of traditional building materials,, Timber, Masonry and Concrete. Experience will be gained in overall site wide infrastructure and earthworks.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Learn to model civil and structural engineering projects in 3D using industry recognised software (Autodesk Revit, Civils3D, AutoCAD)
* Learn to produce general arrangement and detailed drawings under the supervision of a Technician/Senior Technician
* Work closely with other members of the design team, including engineers, to help deliver quality designs in line with company standards
* Learn about design co-ordination, and how it relates to the civil and structural engineering
* Develop an appreciation of the company Quality Assurance procedures, and learn how to check their own work prior to submission to their supervisor
* Attend in-house software training courses and seminars

Requirements
Skills and Experience
Level 3 Apprenticeship (36 months)
* Apprenticeship candidates will typically have at least 5 GCSEs at Grades A*-C / 9-4 including Maths (Grade B / 5 or 6), English and Science or their equivalent.
Level 4 Apprenticeship (36 months)
* Apprenticeship candidates will typically have at least 5 GCSEs at Grades A*-C / 9-4 including Maths (Grade B / 5 or 6), English and Science or their equivalent plus Two A-Level qualifications at grade 9-4, including Maths.
Desirable
* Have an interest in technical drawing, construction and art.
