Forget Talent are exclusively partnering with a rapidly growing PE‑backed healthcare business in Manchester to appoint a Head of Procurement as part of a wider finance and procurement transformation programme.
This is a standalone role with a clear mandate to design, implement and embed a procurement strategy that delivers commercial value, compliance and operational efficiency across the organisation. Working closely with the Commercial Finance Director and senior stakeholders, you will establish procurement processes from the ground up, strengthen supplier partnerships and drive continuous improvement across sourcing and contract management, building on the recent introduction of the PIVOT contract management and procurement system.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a companywide procurement strategy aligned to organisational priorities and regulatory requirements
* Drive adoption and maximise value from the PIVOT contract management and procurement system
* Establish procurement policies, procedures and governance frameworks to ensure transparency, compliance and efficiency
* Deliver measurable cost savings and value improvements through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations
* Report procurement strategy, performance and savings to UK and Group Boards with clarity and consistency
* Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure quality, reliability and contractual compliance
* Lead procurement activity across high‑value and strategic contracts, including tendering, evaluation and award
* Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver commercially effective procurement solutions
* Monitor market trends and supply risks, providing insight to inform procurement strategy and decision making
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including public procurement regulations and internal governance
Qualifications and Experience
* CIPS Level 5 or above (or working towards)
* Proven experience in procurement within healthcare or regulated environments
* Strong knowledge of contract law, supplier management and tendering processes
* Experience developing procurement functions or leading transformation projects
* Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Experience using the PIVOT contract management and procurement system
