Job summary
James Ward is a 22 bedded acute Cardiology Ward incorporating a 6-bedded CCU with the ability to undertake continuous cardiac monitoring on all patients. We also admit neutropenic sepsis patients to our side rooms so work closely with the specialist oncology/haematology is a 6 bedded unit within James Ward that admits patients with acute coronary syndromes and haemodynamic compromise related to various cardiac pathology. We are skilled in nursing patients with CPAP, IABP and temporary Trans venous pacing in progress. Our teams are integrated with Cardiac Cath Lab and envisage this post holder rotating to work within the Cath Lab.
We are looking for experienced Health Care Assistants, hospital experience is desirable but not essential. A minimum of NVQ2 two in Health and Social Care or the equivalent. Successful applicants will be required to complete a Two Day Induction course, which will include all the Trust statutory/Mandatory training to join our team inviting them to share their knowledge and experience with the Unit; you will need to be well motivated and committed to high standards of patient care and personal professional development.
We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the ward and are committed to professional development of all staff. Team working is an integral part of the Unit with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.
Main duties of the job
The Health Care Assistant (Band 2) is a member of the care team who will support Registered Practitioner in the delivery of routine patient care. The Health Care Assistant will undertake a broad range of care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Practitioner. The Health care Assistant (Band 2) will also work closely and under supervision of the Health Care Assistant (Band 3) and where relevant Associate Practitioners
