Job Summary

Portsmouth Marriott Hotel is looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to join the Front Desk team. We aim to ensure all guests have a wonderful stay at the world leading hospitality company Portsmouth Marriott Hotel, located near famous landmarks such as the Spinnaker Tower. The hotel features amenities including Cast Iron Bar & Grill, our signature restaurant, and a fitness centre. The role offers a supportive environment to progress your career.


Responsibilities

* Process all guest check‑ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing and activating room keys.
* Handle all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit or credit.
* Coordinate with Housekeeping to track room readiness for check‑in.
* Provide guests with directions and information regarding the property and local areas of interest.
* Run daily reports (arrivals, departures), identify special requests, and check reports for accuracy; complete cashier and closing reports in the computer system.
* Count the bank at the beginning and end of shift; balance and drop receipts according to Accounting specifications.
* Embrace the Marriott culture.


Required Qualifications

* Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent level of spoken and written English.
* Provide welcoming and attentive service to all guests, assist individuals with disabilities, and answer service‑related inquiries.
* Work independently and as part of a team.
* Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
* Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
