We have some of the best university facilities in the UK and achieve outstanding results for our teaching and research and have been awarded Gold in the prestigious Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023 – making it one of the top universities in the country recognised for its outstanding student experience and student outcomes.

Financially strong and seriously ambitious we offer our employees an inclusive culture that centres itself around staff wellbeing, where you can be confident you will receive all the help and encouragement you need to build a rewarding career with lots of opportunities to enhance your skills.

About the Department

In People Experience and Culture, we foster a culture of excellence which positively impacts the student experience and supports the University’s growth and success. We focus on the wellbeing of our colleagues, and support our leaders to create engaged, goal-aligned teams that power our organisation and community.

We bring a future-focussed approach to people and skills challenges, using data-led insights to partner our colleges and directorates in securing the right people, at the right time, with the right skills, and right culture that allow us to meet our strategic objectives.

TCI’s purpose is to evolve and grow the organisation and its people to be future fit, by embedding an inclusive culture to promote a positive employee experience and connect us to our university's purpose.

Our TCI team consist of:

* People and Culture Change - This shapes the University’s approach to and provision of cultural evolution. It leads on cultural shifts we need to make to shape an employee experience necessary to organisational success.
* Equity, Inclusion and Wellbeing - Equity, Inclusion and Wellbeing (EI&W) focus on creating a felt, lived, valued and inclusive experience where people feel they have purpose, place, choice and belonging. EI&W enables the University to create psychological safety where people feel they can be their whole self at work by challenging poor behaviours, role-modelling what we want to see, and enabling fair and equitable opportunities.
* Talent Management and Performance - This area shapes the University’s approach to and provision of talent and succession management, performance enablement and assessment. It defines the capabilities we need as an organisation to be competitive and relevant through workforce planning which aims to develop and maintain workforce relevance and close the gap between the talent we need for the future and the supply we have now.
* People Growth and Potential - People Growth and Potential (PGP) aims to create a learning organisation with curiosity driving experimentation and innovation. PGP defines current and future capability gaps in our workforce and bridges these.
