Your newpany
My client are an independent retail & marketing group headquartered in North Hampshire. With over 50 years' history, they support a network of Independent Retailers with access to consumer electronics products, whilst supporting online sales with a D2C merce site (with orders being fulfilled by the independent stores). As part of a large-scale buying group, they support their business network with central POS marketing support as well as access to a greater consumer reach - particularly via merce. Due to continued expansion of their digital capabilities, the team has been growing steadily for the past few years and we are now recruiting the job of merce Merchandising Manager to join the team.
Your new role
As merce Merchandising Manager, your main responsibility is the merchandising of physical products on the merce platform; uploading and managing product content including product imagery and descriptions, responsible for the digital "look and feel" of the product catalogue across two sites (B2C and B2C). You will own and manage the end-to-end process of setting up new products from ERP to website front-end, making sure that products are represented in the best way possible for retail and trade customers alike. You will take the lead on the PIM and the end-to-end process of setting up products, reporting on product volumes and sales to the wider business.
As part of the merce team, you will manage two Product Merchandisers and work very closely with the other managers in the team on the overall online customer journey; collaborating in a joined-up approach to ensure understanding of how customers are shopping products, ease of access to products on the website, visibility of product information, and ultimately maximising online sales through an enhanced digital experience.
What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for someone with previous merce merchandising experience, with a track record of merchandising physical products in an online storefront. You will demonstrate capabilities with merce, PIM, DAM, ERP and API systems; able to manage the end-to-end process of product creation, set up and upload online. You will understand optimising product content online to maximise sales; analysing trends, keeping an eye on product inventory, and managing product positioning online.
You will also possess management and leadership capabilities, in order to manage a small team, and have experience liaising with external developers. Essentially, you will utilise your hands-on experience in supporting online retail sales with product data entry and upload into ERP, PIM and website platforms to drive the digital look and feel of products online to maximise sales, ideally in both B2B and B2C retail environments.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of up to £45,000 and benefits packaging including 25 days' annual leave + Bank Holidays, life assurance and pension. You will work in a hybrid workplace, with 2 days home-working and the option to flex hours for an early finish every other Friday.
