Contek are working with a client in Telford who manufacture high spec plastic injection mould tools within the UK. All toolmaking processes are carried out in-house, ensuring total control over design - primarily serving within the Medical industry, but also deal with a variety of other sectors.
They are a small team looking to expand to find a Toolmaker to join on a permanent basis. My client has a 50/50 split between the manufacture of new tooling and repairs/refurbs of other injection mould tools - so both backgrounds would be considered.
Core hours: Mon-Fri - 8:00-4:30pm which are flexible on start/finishing times. Opportunity to work the 40 hours from Mon-Thurs.
Experience and skills:
- Ideally you will be a time served toolmaker and have served an Apprenticeship.
- Experienced with Manual machining in one or more of the following including: Milling (Bridgport), Turning (XYZ), Surface/Cylindrical grinding (Jones and Shipman) and EDM machining (Mitsubishi/Agie).
- Reading of engineering drawings and knowledge of geometric tolerances.
- Manufacture of new tooling up to on average 2.5T in weight.
- Use of overhead crane (3.2T).
- Building, stripping, fitting and polishing of tooling.
- CNC Machining would be a benefit, but not required (Heidenhain/Siemens)
