Maintenance Engineer Job description Gateshead 35 hours per week £33,465 per year Permanent An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer at our Gateshead site. As part of a team you will manage the installation, modification and ongoing maintenance of a range of equipment used in the origination, production and delivery of accessible information to ensure the quality and delivery of output for internal and external customers. Reporting to the Specialist Production Team Leader your main responsibilities will include: Maintenance Management : Oversee machinery maintenance and repairs. Support : Provide proactive and reactive maintenance support. Process Improvement : Enhance manufacturing methods and efficiency. Safety Procedures : Establish and maintain safety and service schedules. Record Keeping : Maintain service and repair logs. Asset Management : Manage equipment assets and technical data. Standards Compliance : Ensure engineering standards are met. Quality Improvement : Investigate and improve product quality. Team Collaboration : Work cooperatively across teams. Supplier Relations : Manage relationships with machine suppliers. Health and Safety : Adhere to health and safety policies. Undertake temporary shift changes with additional pay. Relocate to disaster recovery site if needed, with additional pay. What you'll need to succeed in this role Qualified to City and Guilds level or equivalent or equivalent experience in mechanical and electrical engineering. Experience of electrical safety requirements. Experience of maintaining, serving and repairing industrial machines in a commercial environment. Experience of mechanics and electronics, including repair of industrial equipment including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Experience of dealing effectively with technical engineering enquiries. Multi-skilled in mechanical and electrical maintenance / repair issues.
