Overview
We are seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly Food and Beverage team here at Wooda - our award winning 5 star, family-run, holiday park. This role will be based at our on-site restaurant The Yard, which offers an evening food service pm) Tuesday - Saturday in addition to Sunday lunch service (12-4pm).
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant who can be available to cover 5 shifts per week, shift lengths will vary, as prep time and pot washing duties will be dependant on trade. Due to the nature of the role and shift times, the successful candidate will need to be of at least school leaver age.
* Contract length - End of March - End of October
* Contracted hours - Minimum of 16 per week
* Fully flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
* Shift times will vary in length depending on trade
Job role
As our primary Kitchen Assistant for the season you will work hard behind the scenes supporting with kitchen operations, allowing our Chefs to prepare delicious, locally inspired dishes for our guests to enjoy in Yard Bar & Restaurant. This role is about upholding the highest standards of hygiene, and working well in a busy environment. Responsibilities will mainly include food preparation and pot washing, in addition to any other tasks that support the running of the kitchen.
Requirements
* Flexibility to work most evenings and weekends
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
* Ability to multitask effectively during busy periods
* Hardworking and efficient
* Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
* Basic cooking or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential
The ideal candidate will have experience in a commercial kitchen, be hard working and reliable. This position provides valuable experience in a dynamic environment, with opportunity to learn from our experienced Chefs.
