Join us as an Access and Engagement Worker in the Scottish Highlands.

Our Highland team is looking for an Access and Engagement Worker to help us bring high-quality, compassionate support to people affected by alcohol or drug use, all delivered remotely.

This is a brand-new service model in the NHS Highland area, offering a blend of web-based and telephone support to ensure people can get help wherever they are, even without reliable internet. You’ll be part of a small, forward-thinking remote team supporting individuals through one-to-one sessions and virtual group work, all designed to break down barriers to accessing care.
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Empathetic, approachable, and skilled at building trust remotely
* Creative in engaging people from all walks of life
* Comfortable using digital tools to connect and communicate
* Ideally familiar with the NHS Highland region and the challenges people may face accessing support

You will work collaboratively with partners and communities, ensuring accessibility and embedding the principles of a Recovery Oriented System of Care and person-centred practice. An SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) are essential.
This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £25,000 per annum. The role is hybrid, involving travel for meetings to develop client pathways and engage with stakeholders. Working hours include evenings and weekends in addition to office hours.
We seek positive, motivated candidates with strong communication skills, excellent organization, and good time management.
To succeed, you should:
* Have SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent
* Be registered or eligible for registration with the SSSC
* Have experience in health, social care, or related settings
* Experience delivering services in a community setting
* Knowledge of evidence-based interventions
* Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
* Resilience under pressure and good prioritization skills
* Flexibility with working hours and willingness to support other locations as needed
Previous experience working or volunteering with people who misuse substances is desirable. Applications from those with lived experience are encouraged.
You will need to meet safeguarding requirements, including a satisfactory PVG check.
