Due to ongoing expansion, a superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations/Factory Manager to play a key role in the current and future growth and success of the business. The newly created Manager will work alongside the Owners to help assume responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient management of all factory and production activities to ensure customer expectations are exceeded and that company financial targets are achieved. KEY DUTIES SUMMARY Help with the overall management of day to day production Monitoring of production to ensure that the production remains cost effective Ensuring all necessary production paperwork is completed in a timely manner Provide “hands on” assistance in working with the wider production team to continuously improve production methods and processes through ongoing analysis of production efficiency and the identification and delivery of efficiency improvement projects. Meet regularly with the MD to ensure effective communication of information relative to potential process improvement initiatives. In conjunction with the MD & Technical assistant contribute to new product development Ensure effective factory floor housekeeping and maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with legislative Health and Safety requirements. Supervision of production staff and foster effective teamwork and ensure a neutral and harmonious working environment. Assist in maintaining a comprehensive food safety and quality manual of policy, procedure, data capture and work instruction to ensure the production of safe, quality and legal products. Manage documentation within the Food Safety & Quality and HACCP manuals, conduct risk assessments and keep technical documents up to date Prepare and issue customer specifications as required, to the company’s broad customer base and answer specification related queries from customers Manage raw material and packaging material specifications, THE PERSON Applicants must have proven successful management and leadership experience of working within a FMCG environment, working to technical, customer and regulatory standards, targets and KPI’s while driving continuous improvement on site. A minimum of 5 years previous experience as a Production Supervisor or Manager within a Food Manufacturing or Processing business Possess and be able to demonstrate strong people and organisational skills The ability to recruit, train, support and motivate a team is essential.
