About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will work closely with the Business Partner Team and wider finance function to deliver high-quality management accounting support. You’ll play a key role in providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records, ensuring all income and liabilities are correctly recorded and reconciled
2. Support the month-end close process, including:
3. Preparing and posting journals (accruals and prepayments) with clear audit trails
4. Reviewing general ledger postings and making necessary corrections
5. Investigating and resolving variances and queries
6. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including detailed explanations of month-on-month and year-on-year movements
7. Contribute to the development of annual budgets and forecasts, analysing key drivers such as student numbers, payroll/FTE, and non-pay costs
8. Assist with audits, providing supporting documentation and responding to auditor queries
9. Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
10. Build strong working relationships across the finance team and wider departments
11. Identify opportunities to improve data quality and reporting processes
12. Deputise for the Finance Business Partner when required
About You
13. Currently studying towards, or already holding, a recognised accounting qualification
14. Strong understanding of management accounting, including month-end processes, budgeting, and forecasting
15. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
16. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
17. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload
18. A self-starter with a proactive, positive attitude
19. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships
