Islay Centre The Islay Centre offers assessment and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism who display complex or high-risk behaviours. Using a multidisciplinary team—including psychiatry, psychology, art therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and pharmacy—the centre provides trauma-informed, positive behavioural support. Its goal is to enhance quality of life, promote community inclusion, and reduce the use of restrictive practices. Working through a multidisciplinary team, the centre offers trauma-informed, positive behavioural support to enhance quality of life and reduce restrictive practices. It delivers high-quality, evidence-based care, supports professional development, and participates in the Royal College of Psychiatry’s inpatient accreditation process to maintain continuous service improvement.
