Equans is looking for a Project Manager (PFP/Defects) to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on a 24 month fixed term contract. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

You will take the lead role in supporting the delivery of Passive Fire Protection remediation works and defects across the QEH site. As part of this you will be expected to take full accountability including P&L for the delivery of all PFP related Projects & Lifecycle (LC works which are planned alongside the remediation workstreams) works at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Your role will be fundamental to supporting the HOP in delivering the PFP programme of works and meeting the business targets along with closing out the key defects. You will need to show leadership with the team the stakeholders at all times as there will be a expectation from Equans to support the delivery of the PFP workstream, you will also be expected to cover the HOP if away from the Contract.

This role is fundamental to the delivery of all projects and lifecycle works on behalf of Equans and the client. Meeting the clients needs and ensuring works are delivered within budget and on time is paramount and the post holder needs to reflect this in the day-day operations. All projects must ensure a favourable financial return within COP. The role will involve:

* Detailed discussions with Trust, end-users and careful planning is required to ensure that all PFP projects are planned successfully
* Ensuring snagging and defects are managed and closed-out within the specified timescale
* Supervising contractors, liaising with clients and other company departments during projects where necessary
* Monitor working procedures, workmanship, and performance of contractors with particular regard to health and safety. Consult closely with Technical Services, and Estates Maintenance Managers to assist with monitoring and performance measurement

What will you deliver?

* Full Profit & Loss responsibility for all PFP/Defect related projects & life cycle works associated with the workstreams
* Build and sustain strong relationship with relevant stakeholders at a senior level to ensure the PFP works are not delayed which causes financial penalties
* Lead the PFP team to ensure all work is carried out on time, in budget and minimal disruption to the Trust
* Manage the team and ensure that there is continuity of service during staff absences/holidays
* Support and mentor your team to ensure they are accountable to run projects
* Support the HOP with specific PFP processes and governance
* This is a working role so you will be expected to manage your own designated projects along with supporting those of your team
* Make sure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures
* Monitoring and communicating project financial performance and administration to the HOP, to ensure all costs are covered and where agreed re-chargeable to the Client
* Act as a point of contact for your team, managing relationships with all stakeholders, consultants and service providers
* Implement and comply with Equans policies and procedures, all legal requirements and best practice within Equans Group's including regular safety inspections within the allocated business area
* Comment on designs and specifications provided by the Client however, not taking any design risks associated with the Client proposals
* Monitor working procedures and performance of suppliers with particular regard to health and safety
* Liaise closely with Technical Services, and Estates Maintenance Managers to assist with monitoring and performance measurement
* Support the HOP in the \'on call\' rota as and when required, after suitable training and relevant experience is gained - this will only be to backfill with prior agreement
* Responsible for undertaking work in any other building/property/location as required
* Act as the single point of contact for the PFP/Defect project for Equans
* Act as the liaison with stakeholders to arrange and co-ordinate Passive Fire Protection remedial work, misting works and agreed defects
* Reviewing and inputting into the relevant Service Delivery plans/Building Services plans etc on behalf of Equans that are produced by the client in order to commence the remedial works
* Ensure dilapidation surveys and handover surveys are suitably undertaken to ensure Design Requirements from original construction are adhered too as well as all contractual elements
* Arrange all access for the above works to take place including the management of technical isolations and issuing of permits to work as well as ensuring safe systems of work are adhered too
* Arrange isolations where required, working with the APs on site
* Manage and co-ordinate directly employed labour and suppliers in all aspects of the Passive Fire protection work
* Review RAMs & proposals for each area/phase
* Support the HOP with all meetings related to PFP
* Make sure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures
* Ensure all records are kept & filed in accordance with Equans best practice
* Produce any other reports, as requested by the HOP
* Requirement to work within a 24hr Hospital environment (as appropriate) to support the PFP works, this may involve flexible working for you and your team

Who are you?

* Proven background in FM, maintenance delivery, and the PFI environment
* A strong people manager, who will have the ability to successfully lead, motivate and manage a diverse team and will be a natural strategic thinker with a strong commercial awareness
* Ability to show understanding of Local Authority legislation, Planning Applications, Fire and Building Regulations Approvals
* High level of verbal, written and numeric skills and must be computer literate. A sound knowledge of standard spreadsheet packages and computerized estates and project management systems
* Must be able to manage people, be self-motivating, able to work on own initiative, liaise and delegate effectively with staff operating in a multi-disciplinary environment
* A sound knowledge of building and engineering services design and associated British Standards - specifically Electrical to allow Distribution board handovers (TTOC)
* A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction Design and Management Regulations and other relevant statutory requirements will be required
* Financially aware and able to use Equans finance software (COUPA) to support the team in the delivery of the PFP projects
* Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of technical and estates and building issues in the provision of construction, maintenance and FM services
* HNC /HND or equivalent qualification in a building or engineering discipline

This role includes a DBS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.
