Fresh People are recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Assistant on behalf of a leading fresh produce business based in Maidstone.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and organised individual to join a busy Finance team within a fast-paced fresh produce operation. The Purchase Ledger Assistant will support the Finance function, maintaining strong relationships with growers, pickers and packers, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial information to support business operations.
The Role Support the Finance Assistant with approval and input of purchase invoices onto the system.
Set up new suppliers and maintain accurate supplier records.
Request and reconcile supplier statements.
Support the daily arrivals process.
Process monthly employee expenses.
Produce and send weekly account statements.
Chase outstanding debts over 30 days, ensuring balances do not exceed 60 days.
Provide cover and support to other members of the Finance team as required.
Ensure continued self-development through regular communication with the line manager.
Adhere to company standards of communication and professionalism at all times.
About You Previous experience in a purchase ledger, accounts assistant or finance administration role.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data.
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks within a busy department.
Confident communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Comfortable working as part of a team and providing cross-departmental support.
Experience within a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
