Location: Redditch (B97 area)
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour (PAYE)
Hours: 18 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 11:00 – 17:00
(Hours may occasionally vary and include weekend work)
Contract Type: Temporary (Sickness Cover)
Contract Duration: Approximately 3 months with potential extension
A local authority housing and care service is seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Co-ordinator to support residents within a care home environment in Redditch. This rewarding role focuses on improving wellbeing, reducing isolation and encouraging social engagement through a variety of activities and volunteer-led initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Recruit, manage and support volunteers delivering activities and social engagement programmes
* Organise activities, outings and one-to-one befriending opportunities for residents
* Maintain volunteer records, databases and associated documentation
* Support the coordination of volunteer events, including recruitment initiatives and celebration events
* Engage with residents to gather feedback and develop suitable activity programmes
* Assist with consultation and engagement sessions with residents and service users
* Support safeguarding procedures by identifying and reporting concerns appropriately
Requirements
* Enhanced DBS Check (with relevant barred list)
* Previous experience working with vulnerable adults, care environments or community support roles desirable
* Warm, approachable and creative personality
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good administrative and record-keeping skills
* Right to work in the UK
