Herdsperson Herdsperson – Leicestershire - £30,000 The Job: A progressive dairy farm in Leicestershire is seeking an experienced and motivated Herdsperson to join its team. This is a full-time, permanent role offering an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive environment that prioritises animal welfare, sustainability, and staff well-being. Key Responsibilities Day to day management of a pedigree Holstein herd and followers Milking within a modern 15/30 herringbone parlour, operated by two people Maintaining high standards of animal health and welfare, including fertility, nutrition, and milk quality Identifying and addressing health issues promptly; administering treatments as required Performing foot trimming and supporting herd health programmes Operating and maintaining farm machinery, including tractors and telehandlers Supervising, training, and motivating team members to ensure smooth operations Adhering to all health and safety regulations and compliance requirements Farm Overview Approximately 200 pedigree Holsteins with all-year-round calving Grazing system implemented seasonally (April to October) Committed to sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship The Candidate: Proven experience working on a dairy farm Strong animal husbandry and handling skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required Knowledge of fertility management, nutrition, and milk quality standards Experience in foot trimming Competence in operating tractors and telehandlers Full, clean UK driving licence The Package: Competitive salary: £28,000 – £30,000 depending on experience Opportunities for personal development and training Supportive and positive working environment with a focus on work life balance Please email your CV to Conor Atay, Recruitment Delivery Consultant, CAtay@agrirs.co.uk.
