Role: Operations Delivery Manager (Waste & Recycling Department)
Location: Braintree, Essex
Pay: £22 per hour PAYE
Contract: Temporary contract for 4 months with the possibility to extend
Hours: Mon to Fri, 37 hours per week
About the Role
We are supporting a local authority in Braintree with the appointment of an Operations Delivery Manager to support changes within their waste service. This is a hands on delivery role focused on coordinating operational activity, managing implementation work and supporting teams through a period of service change.
The role plays a central part in preparing for Simpler Recycling changes being introduced across England. You will work closely with waste operations, contractors and internal departments to ensure plans are delivered on time and services continue to run effectively. An on site presence is required, particularly at the start of the assignment. The role is on site based between depot and office locations in Braintree.
What You'll Do
* Coordinate multiple operational and implementation workstreams
* Manage delivery plans, timescales and resources
* Support the rollout of bins and caddies to over 60000 properties
* Oversee bulk waste provision for businesses and schools
* Work closely with operational teams to maintain service continuity
* Resolve delivery issues and support teams during change
* Ensure health and safety and operator licence compliance
* Provide clear updates to waste services leadership and senior management
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with experience in operational delivery, service implementation or project coordination within a service led environment. Experience from waste services, environmental services, transport, logistics, highways or facilities management would transfer well.
You'll be organised, delivery focused and comfortable working at pace. Strong communication skills are important, with the ability to work confidently with frontline teams as well as senior stakeholders. A practical, on site approach is key to succeeding in this role.
