Senior General Manager

£80,000 - £100,000 + 30% Annual Bonus
Our client is looking for an exceptional leader to support the business across multiple locations. The purpose of the role is to ensure safe, reliable, and customer-focused services while driving operational excellence and sustained performance improvement.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Director, you'll provide strategic oversight across operations and engineering, lead complex operational environments, and develop high-performing leadership teams that deliver results.
The role also plays an important part in developing the next generation of operational leaders, creating a clear pathway to future Service Delivery Director positions.
Key Responsibilities
* Own end-to-end service delivery performance across the area, ensuring safe, reliable, and punctual operations across multiple depots.
* Work in close partnership with Engineering leadership to ensure fleet availability, reliability, and compliance across the area.
* Build leadership capability and succession pipelines across the area, preparing future General Managers and Service Delivery Directors.
* Ensure delivery of customer experience, punctuality, and reliability targets across the area.
* Own operational risk management across the area, ensuring early identification and mitigation of safety, performance, and compliance risks.
* Implement regional and divisional improvement initiatives and operating frameworks locally.
* Lead performance reviews that connect operational delivery with financial outcomes, identifying actions to improve EBIT.
Skills & Experience Required
* Significant senior operational leadership experience within a large, multi-site, safety-critical, or regulated environment.
* Demonstrated ability to set direction, prioritise effectively, and make sound commercial decisions
* Strong track record of leading complex operations and delivering sustained performance improvement.
* Deep understanding of bus, transport, engineering, or comparable operational sectors.
* Proven experience coaching and developing senior operational leaders and building succession pipelines.
