National Account Manager – Grocery
Remote (travel to Midlands office as and when required)
£60,000–£70,000 DOE + benefits
We’re working with a well established FMCG food business in the grocery space, looking to hire a National Account Manager to take ownership of their world foods portfolio across UK retail.
This is a role focused on nurturing and growing existing business, developing customer relationships, protecting core distribution, and unlocking incremental growth through range, promotions and smart execution. If you enjoy building long-term partnerships and driving sustainable performance (rather than pure new business hunting), this could be a great fit.
The position is remote-first, with travel to a Midlands office as and when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and grow a portfolio of UK grocery accounts within the world foods category
* Build and deliver customer plans aligned to wider business objectives
* Own forecasting, promotional planning, pricing and performance tracking
* Develop strong relationships with buyers and cross-functional customer contacts
* Identify opportunities for distribution growth, range optimisation and activation
* Manage trade spend effectively, ensuring strong ROI and contribution
* Work closely with internal teams (supply chain, marketing, finance) to deliver the plan
* Provide clear reporting and insight on performance, risks and opportunities
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a National Account Manager within FMCG (food preferred)
* Strong understanding of UK grocery customers and commercial fundamentals
* Comfortable owning JBPs, forecasting cycles, promotional plans and negotiations
* Commercially sharp and confident with numbers, margin and trade spend
* A relationship-led operator who enjoys developing accounts over time
* Organised, proactive and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Happy working remotely with occasional travel as required
