The Role
IAE is seeking an experienced and driven Galvanising Manager to lead our galvanising operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality processing of steel products. Working within our state-of-the-art facility, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining coating quality, optimising plant performance, and ensuring our galvanised products consistently meet customer and industry standards.
· Lead and manage all day-to-day galvanising operations to ensure efficient throughput and coating quality.
· Oversee the complete galvanising process
· Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, environmental controls, and industry standards.
· Monitor bath chemistry, process parameters, and plant performance to maintain consistent coating thickness and finish quality.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce rework, and minimise waste.
· Develop and manage production schedules in line with production output and customer delivery targets.
· Proactively troubleshoot operational issues to minimise downtime and maintain plant reliability.
· Lead, coach, and develop technicians and operatives to achieve departmental KPIs.
· Promote a strong safety-first culture across all galvanising operations.
· Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, and consumables including zinc usage.
· Prepare and present performance, safety, and quality reports to senior leadership.
The Candidate
We are looking for a hands-on leader with significant experience in galvanising or finishing environments. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with proven leadership capability.
Skills and Experience:
· Minimum 5 years' experience in a galvanising, surface finishing, or heavy manufacturing management role.
· Strong understanding of galvanising processes and coating quality standards.
· Proven experience managing health & safety in a high-temperature industrial environment.
· Experience with ISO9001-accredited environments and adherence to quality control systems.
· Knowledge of environmental compliance relating to chemical handling and emissions.
· Strong problem-solving ability with a data-driven approach to process improvement.
· Experience managing production planning, cost control, and resource optimisation.
· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.

Hours: Working 39 hours, Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 15:30.
