Financial Controller – Construction Industry

We are partnering with a well-established construction company in Hertfordshire to recruit a highly skilled Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in the construction industry to take ownership of the finance function and play a key role in the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage all aspects of the finance function, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reports for senior management.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and audit processes.
* Manage cash flow, working capital, and cost control across multiple projects.
* Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls.
* Liaise with project teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting on project performance.
* Provide commercial and strategic financial advice to the leadership team.
* Lead and support a small finance team, ensuring effective performance and development.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller within the construction industry is essential.
* Strong knowledge of construction accounting processes, including CIS, retentions, and applications for payment.
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
* Excellent understanding of financial controls, systems, and compliance.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.
* Commercially astute with the ability to provide strategic financial insight.
