Finance Support Assistant. - Immediate start.
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual to join our clients finance team based in County Londonderry, NI. As a Finance Support Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data and processes. You will support the day-to-day operations of the finance department and ensure all activities comply with internal policies and procedures.
This role is a 4/5 week temporary role with the possibility of an extension.
Key Responsibilities:
* Use finance systems to input and extract data in line with internal control procedures.
* Prepare and reconcile financial records, ensuring accurate processing and timely completion of tasks, including file uploads.
* Review, prepare, and process documents in accordance with financial controls.
* Carry out regular control account reconciliations and adhere to best practices.
* Provide administrative support and respond to queries related to finance operations.
* Liaise with budget holders to resolve issues quickly and in line with organisational policies.
* Contribute to the planning and improvement of finance procedures, offering suggestions for system and process enhancements.
* Communicate with relevant external bodies such as HMRC, pensions providers, or the Student Loans Company where necessary.
* Deliver training and support to colleagues and assist temporary staff to ensure consistent compliance with procedures.
* Assist in developing and updating finance policies and procedures.
* Support the development and implementation of system updates in collaboration with IT and other stakeholders, including user testing.
* Stay informed of relevant regulations and share updates with the wider team.
* Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining positive and professional relationships.
* Organise and manage your workload effectively while supporting team members, especially during periods of leave or high demand.
* Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing requested documentation and information promptly.
* Be a supportive team player and flexible when needed, including occasionally working outside standard hours to meet deadlines.
* Maintain well-organised and secure filing systems for financial records and confidential data.
* Take part in the rotation of duties across the finance team, which may involve occasional travel between sites.
* Carry out any other relevant tasks as required, appropriate to the level of the role.
