Hours: Full-Time, Hybrid
My client is seeking an experienced and professional Legal Cashier to join their Dorking office. The Senior Legal Cashier plays a key role in the management of the Firm, supporting the Finance Manager in managing the Firms financial operations, ensuring full compliance with the SAR Rules and supporting both the operational and supervisory functions of the finance team. The role combines hands-on legal cashiering with leadership, oversight, and process improvement responsibilities.
Responsibilities
More specifically, the role will involve:
* Lead the accounts payable function
* Manage supplier payment runs
* Able to cover and oversee all day-to-day legal cashiering activities across client and office accounts
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of receipts, payments, transfers, and billing
* Review and authorise transactions in line with internal controls and firm policies
* Bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
* Supporting financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow monitoring
* Assist with preparation of financial reports and management information
* Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and systems
* Ensure full compliance with SAR Accounts Rules and AML regulations
* Assist with internal and external audits
* Maintain and strengthen financial controls and procedures
Team involvement
* Support other members of the finance team
* Help facilitate firm training and guidance on systems and compliance
* Promote a high standard of accuracy xsngvjr and accountability
* Help act as a point of contact for fee earners on financial queries
* Resolve complex or escalated issues
* Liaise with banks and external providers as required
* Specific projects and other tasks as required.
Experience required:
* Experience working as a Legal Cashier
* Good knowledge of SAR Accounts Rules and AML regulations
