The Role and Team The team is seeking to appoint a Solicitor (1-5 PQE). The candidate will have the opportunity to join an established and ambitious team, receive outstanding support and mentoring and be exposed to interesting and complex work. We provide dispute resolution services for a broad range of clients primarily in the health, social care, charities and social enterprise sectors. We are looking for a litigator to join our growing commercial dispute resolution and property litigation team. We are flexible about the role, depending on the candidate: either focusing on property litigation or doing a mix of property litigation and commercial dispute resolution. Our commercial dispute resolution and property litigation offering is managed as part of the Corporate Commercial team here at Hempsons Our property litigators work closely with the other litigators in the team, several of whom undertake a mix of commercial dispute resolution and property litigation. Our property litigators work with our real estate teams, across all five offices. The core property litigation team currently comprises of a Partner and two Associates, with support from a trainee solicitor or solicitor apprentice. The core property litigation team is supported by other members of the commercial dispute resolution team. The successful candidate can be based at any of our Harrogate, Manchester, Newcastle or Southampton offices. We offer a Hybrid Working environment so the flexibility to work from the office and at home is available. The candidate will be expected to have a solid grounding in commercial Property Litigation work since qualification and regard it as an area of specialist knowledge. A flavour of some areas in which experience would be an advantage are: service charge disputes; 1954 Act lease renewals; insolvency (in a property context); overage disputes; professional negligence; rent reviews; break options; exit strategies; possession claims; and dilapidations claims.
