If youre a customer-focused sales professional, driven to learn about and support new products, get in touch today to discuss an exciting opportunity being managed by our principal consultant, Robin Thomas, to join one of the largest independent distributors of industrial engineering products and consumables in the UK.

Excellent remuneration & commission package | Long-term opportunity to work towards external sales role (if desired)

Working in internal sales operating out of the Huntingdon branch, youll be handling incoming phone/email enquiries, achieving profitable sales across the product range, and upselling where appropriate.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Efficient response to incoming phone/email enquiries and orders
2. Achieve profitable sale of goods across the product range, up-selling as appropriate
3. Build rapport with customers, establishing credibility when providing product and service information
4. Prompt follow-up on customer enquiries not immediately resolved
5. Utilise IT system to accurately identify, source, and price items to accurately record enquiries and orders, invoices and other documentation
6. Undertake ad hoc purchasing tasks, including placing orders with suppliers
7. Work with management/colleagues to identify improvements to services and products
8. Research and source solutions using the internet and the company bespoke IT package
9. Resolve customer invoice queries, liaising with accounts team and other company colleagues as appropriate
10. Sales and purchasing admin support including accurate filing and retrieval of documentation
11. Undertake other similar/associated duties that may be assigned to you

Skills & Experience

12. Internal sales experience will be considered highly advantageous
13. Ideal candidate will have relevant product knowledge of engineering consumables
14. Desire to succeed in a sales environment/previous experience of achievement in a similar role
15. Willing and able to learn about, and support new products
16. Proficient in basic computer applications
17. Professional level of verbal and written communication skills, as well as good numerical skills
18. Customer focused, driven to provide consistently high levels of service
19. Margin-aware, flexible and a strong team player
20. Knowledge of engineering products and processes is desirable, however not essential
