MeiYuMe is now looking for an Innovation and Development Technician, to further strengthen our global team. The role will offer an exciting opportunity for someone ready to further their cosmetic career and take a role in innovative formulation development and technology transfers on a global platform.
The role:
* To support the Senior Chemist and Chemist in the laboratory manufacturing of formulations.
* To reliably make, understanding the usage and effect of raw materials and methods feeding back to the chemist any issues or general findings during manufacture
* To prepare samples for customers and testing purposes
* To check stability results
* To help support and run the laboratory ensuring that equipment is working and ordered if relevant
* Working in collaboration with chemists, offer advice on manufacturing around formulation structures.
* Evaluating and provide adjustment direction to cosmetic products, be capable of colour matching to benchmarks.
* Perform all laboratory work and data analysis and report in a timely manner and to a high standard, and in accordance with all relevant procedures, project plans and SOPs.
* To start to get an understanding of scientific literature, raw materials, new technologies, processing methodology, and global marketing trends.
* To help support the creation of products required stability, user trials, challenge tests
* Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
* Assist Senior Chemists & Chemists in any investigation and/or corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) processes as required and provide technical laboratory support in conducting investigations and troubleshooting.
* To scan and understand lab paperwork helping with project management and maintain your work data on the internal database (Product Vision)
* Work in collaboration with the transfer of your formulation to the Industrialisation team.
* Ability to have an eye for detail and able to consistently work in a laboratory environment feedback your experience
* Work in strong collaboration with the assigned team
* Ability to be flexible in terms of preparing of raw materials, weighing out ingredients, making formulations in the lab, maintaining retained samples etc.
Qualification and Experience:
* You have good laboratory experience gained through a minimum of 2 years' experience within formulation development
* You are meticulous and thorough in your attention to detail, with proven IT skills.
* An excellent communication, you can communicate openly with colleagues and customers.
* You are adaptable and able to work flexibly to meet deadlines.
* You are open and willing to learn new techniques around formulation development.
* Degree qualification in a relevant scientific discipline would be advantageous.
Preferred Criteria
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills with fluency in written English
* A level Science and GCSE in Math, English as a Minimum
