Job Description
Leonardo has a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Test Solutions Engineer on a permanent basis at our modern and purpose-built Luton (Capability Green) site. The Principal Test Solutions Engineer will need to be a talented and experienced engineer, familiar with working on complex electronic (ideally RF, Digital, and Analog-based) test solutions. The role requires hands-on experience in designing complex test solutions for the full lifecycle, with requirements capture for test solutions or main products being highly beneficial.
This position is within the Combat Air business group and will support the enhancement of production test solution capabilities for the following products:
* Praetorian DASS
* At LRI and SRI levels

What You Will Do
* Work with experts in their field to deliver designs that operate beyond 40GHz and help develop complex electronic test systems to meet future customer requirements.
* Engage in design, technical problem solving, and test solution development.
* Potentially travel across the UK or abroad for technical reviews.
What We’re Looking For
You really must have:
* A good understanding of electronic technologies from DC to light, or a solid grasp of systems/software engineering lifecycle.
* Experience working with external suppliers and outsourcing complex work packages.
* Extensive knowledge of NI LabVIEW & TestStand.
* A degree or equivalent qualification.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Good schedule and budget management abilities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Commercial awareness.
* Effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Strong leadership skills and team working capabilities.
* Knowledge of engineering lifecycle and business processes.
It would be nice if you had:
* Understanding of digital/analog/RF systems with ESM and ECM.
* Experience in the defence electronics sector, particularly with airborne sensor systems.
* Chartered Engineer status or membership in a professional engineering institution.
