Position Overview:
My client is seeking a talented and innovative R&D Engineer to join their research and development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the development, testing, and validation of new technologies and products, with a focus on pushing the boundaries of innovation in special purpose machinery.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the research and development efforts to conceptualise, design, and prototype new technologies and products in line with company objectives and market demands.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and manufacturing to translate conceptual ideas into tangible prototypes and products.
3. Conduct thorough research and analysis of emerging technologies, market trends, and customer needs to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
4. Develop and implement testing protocols and procedures to validate product performance, reliability, and safety.
5. Utilise advanced modelling and simulation tools to assess product feasibility and predict performance under various operating conditions.
6. Lead prototype fabrication and assembly efforts, overseeing testing and validation activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and standards.
7. Analyse test data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and refinement, driving iterative design iterations and enhancements.
8. Prepare comprehensive documentation including technical reports, specifications, and test plans to support product development and regulatory compliance.
9. Stay abreast of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in R&D to inform and guide decision-making and innovation initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master’s or Doctorate preferred. Proven experience in research and development, preferably in the design and testing of special purpose machinery or similar complex systems. Strong technical proficiency in engineering principles, design methodologies, and testing techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions. Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts and ideas to cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work within established timelines. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
