Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician Higher Level Clinical Technical Services based at Woodland View Hospital.
What you will do:
In support of our core purpose of working together to achieve the healthiest life possible for everyone in Ayrshire and Arran we are committed to a culture that is Caring, Safe and Respectful. You are required to work collaboratively in a safe, care and respectful way. We are looking for a suitably experienced pharmacy technician who is a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic individual for this exciting role, where you will develop and deliver the provision of pharmaceutical care to the Ayrshire & Arran Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and Mental Health Service. The post holder will provide a pharmacy service to specified child and adolescent patients with mental health disorders within the National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service (NSAIS) unit, wards, clinics and departments across the Mental Health Service and Ayrshire Central Hospital site. You will also support the safe and cost-effective use of medicines within the designated clinical areas and promote the development of local initiatives to improve medicines management in NHS Ayrshire & Arran. The successful candidate will have a key role within the mental health pharmacy team and will require strong team management and leadership skills. The post requires an ability to work autonomously & be responsible for your own outcomes whilst being innovative and forward thinking to service developments. This will require self-direction, confidence and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will have substantial experience as a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and be a SVQ work-based assessor, final accuracy checking qualification and professional development award in assessment and supply of individual patients' medicines. Good communication, organisational and IT skills along with the ability to work with patients and other healthcare professionals will also be essential. Previous mental health experience would be desirable but not essential.
The post requires full PVG Scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland. A driving licence is essential for this post.

Hours:
37 hours per week over 7 days (weekend rota at acute hospitals)
