Thales people provide armed forces customers with operational advantage at every decisive moment throughout the mission. Defence and armed forces customers rely on us to deliver the full range of defence mission systems solutions at land, sea, and air. Our platforms extend across the battlespace including Above and Sonar, Electronic Combat, and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems. Together we offer fantastic opportunities for committed employees to learn and develop their career with us. At Thales UK, we research, develop, and supply technology and services that impact the lives of millions of people each day to make life better, and keep us safer. We innovate across the major industries of Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space. Your health and well‑being matters to us and that’s why we offer you the flexibility to do what’s important to you; whether that’s part‑time hours, job sharing, home working, or the ability to flex your start and finish times. Where possible, we support a working pattern that suits your lifestyle and helps you reach your ambitions.

With growing numbers of mines in the world’s oceans, the UK and France set themselves a clear mine countermeasures (MCM) challenge: to drive a step change in their navies’ mine warfare performance and significantly improve the safety of personnel. The ambition was immense: the development of an integrated, high‑tech, system of systems that could be deployed quickly across the world; to make rapid programme progress, in an area with no established doctrine; and to have cast‑iron certainty on reliability, autonomy, and cybersecurity.

THALES is now looking to hire a Maritime Autonomous Systems Trials Engineer (IVVQ) on a major project working within the Maritime Autonomous & Remote Systems Team (MMCM). We require a keen and motivated engineer skilled in Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ).

The MMCM Project is a complex system‑of‑systems incorporating Platform, Sensors, Command and Control, payload deployment, autonomy and communications.

An IVVQ engineer is needed to deliver the subsystem IVVQ strategies and associated acceptance & tests to ensure successful delivery to client.

What will you deliver?

* You will be a member of a team responsible to the USV IVVQ Lead for delivering the subsystems IVVQ strategy, involving the performing of tests, fault diagnosis and operating the systems through close‑working with the Systems, Software and Hardware and operations engineering teams.
* You will be responsible for the collation and presentation of test Verification and Validation evidence, captured during test activities, to enable design sell‑off and/or Customer Acceptance of the entities to be delivered.
* You will be expected to liaise and support the Systems, Software and Hardware teams in the conduct and resolution of investigations into outstanding issues prior to delivery.
