Overview
The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we’d love you to join us as a Food and Beverage Team Member. This location is in a rural area, so please consider your commute before applying.
Hours: this is a zero-hour contract. We can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week and schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts. We are open 363 days a year and regular weekend and bank holiday work is required. Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 2 March 2026. Salary: £12.25 per hour. Interview date: Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th September. What you’ll be doing
Your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You’ll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With your can-do attitude and desire to provide outstanding service, you’ll help ensure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that’s constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.
You’ll aim to understand what people want, help them and make recommendations. You’ll keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. With an eye for detail, you’ll ensure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food.
We’ll provide an induction that fits the job, training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
