Overview
Lay Training Officer (28 hours per week) – Diocese of Leeds. The Diocese of Leeds is seeking a passionate and creative Lay Training Officer to join our dedicated team, empowering lay ministry and lifelong discipleship across our diverse and vibrant communities.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver in-person, hybrid, and online lay ministry training.
* Support and mentor volunteer tutors and commissioned lay ministers.
* Enable and widen participation in whole-life discipleship for diverse learners.
* Contribute to the Diocese’s Barnabas: Encouraging Confidence programme.
* Help shape engaging course materials, including self-paced learning resources.
* Work collaboratively with teams across the Diocese to share best practices.
About You
* Dynamic and creative individual with a passion for equipping lay ministers and disciples.
* Experience in delivering training for adult learners, managing volunteers, and working collaboratively in a fast-changing environment.
* A degree in theology or significant relevant theological experience is essential.
* Strong IT skills, including willingness to engage with Moodle-based virtual learning.

There is an Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. A full DBS check is required for the successful candidate.
