Graduate Offshore Service Technician/Project Engineer

Based Norwich & Great Yarmouth

The Graduate Offshore Service Technician/Project Engineer will support the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient engineering services across both offshore installations and the onshore workshop. This hybrid development role provides hands-on exposure to equipment assembly, testing, maintenance and repair within the workshop, alongside offshore deployment to support field operations The position is designed for technically minded graduates keen to build a long-term career within offshore service, reliability engineering, or energy operations. This role offers structured development, mentoring from senior technical specialists and involvement in real world client projects from day one.

World wide travel and offshore working are a requirement for this role.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Workshop Responsibilities (Onshore)

•Assist in the assembly, testing, calibration and repair of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation equipment.

•Support strip-downs, diagnostics and root-cause analysis of returned equipment.

•Maintain accurate workshop records, including test certificates, service sheets, and repair logs.

•Ensure all workshop activities comply with internal quality processes and safety procedures.

•Help maintain stock levels of tools, parts and consumables.

Operational & Technical

•Assist with the installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical or multi discipline depending on background).

•Support troubleshooting and repair activities under the supervision of senior technicians.

•Conduct routine equipment checks, performance monitoring and data logging.

•Participate in planned maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance activities.

•Follow standard operating procedures, maintenance manuals and engineering drawings.

•Report equipment faults, unsafe conditions or potential reliability risks promptly.

Project Engineering (Development Responsibilities)

•Support project planning activities including scoping, risk assessment, scheduling and resource allocation.

•Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.

•Contribute to cost estimation, procurement activities, and supplier liaison.

•Participate in site-based project execution, ensuring work is completed safely and to specification

Collaboration & Communication

•Work closely with Project Engineers and QHSE team to support safe and reliable operations.

•Communicate clearly with supervisors about progress, issues and required support.

•Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability improvements.

Training & Development

•Complete company training modules and offshore survival certifications.

•Build knowledge of offshore systems—including rotating machinery, electrical panels, valves, pumps, instrumentation and monitoring systems.

•Work towards becoming a fully competent Offshore Service Technician.

Minimum Requirements

•Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.

•Eligibility and willingness to obtain required offshore certifications (OPITO BOSIET/FOET, MIST, HUET, OGUK medical).

•Demonstrable hands-on technical experience through academic labs, workshops, or practical modules.

•Experience troubleshooting or working with mechanical, electrical or instrumentation equipment (educational or applied).

•High commitment to safety and a responsible approach to work

•Comfortable working in rotational environments and away from home.

•Must be able to pass all mandatory offshore medical and fitness requirements.

Desirable Requirements

• Relevant industry work experience.

• Master’s degree in any of the disciplines above.

• Foreign Language Skills.
