Supply Teaching Assistant (Additional Needs Support)

Swansea Area | Full-Time Preferred | Foundation Phase – KS3

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Supply Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist primary setting designed for learners with additional learning needs (ALN).

About the School (Specialist ALN Setting)

You will be working in a well-established specialist provision supporting pupils with a range of needs, including:

* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Speech, language, and communication needs
* Social, emotional, and behavioural challenges

About the Role (Supply Work Explained)

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Work on a flexible basis with opportunities for regular, ongoing placements
* Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupil needs
* Assist with learning activities, behaviour support, and emotional regulation
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

Full-time availability is strongly preferred, as consistency is key to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.

✅ What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have:

Qualifications:

* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification (desirable)
* Health and Social Care Qualification (essential)

Experience:

* Experience working with children or young people (essential)
* Experience supporting individuals with ALN, ASC, or SEMH needs (highly desirable)
* Backgrounds in care, support work, early years, or youth work are welcomed

Other Requirements:

* Driving licence & access to a vehicle (advantageous, not essential)
* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
