Your Role and Responsibilities
As our Part-Time Teacher of GCSE Music, you will:
* Plan and deliver engaging and intellectually stimulating GCSE Music lessons, ensuring exceptional academic outcomes in performance, composition, and listening.
* Inspire a deep understanding of musical theory, history, and analysis across diverse genres and periods.
* Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles, promoting critical listening, creative composition, and skilled performance.
* Assess student progress rigorously, providing insightful feedback and contributing to student reports.
* Contribute to the development of the Music curriculum and departmental resources, staying abreast of the latest educational and musical advancements.
* Participate in and potentially lead extracurricular musical activities, such as choirs, orchestras, bands, or chamber ensembles, enriching the learning experience.
* Contribute positively to the wider life and pastoral care within our boys' school community.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in Music or a related musical discipline.
* Proven experience teaching GCSE Music successfully in the UK is essential.
* A genuine passion for Music and a commitment to inspiring young men in the arts.
* Excellent subject knowledge, with the ability to convey complex musical concepts with clarity and enthusiasm.
* A dynamic, adaptable, and innovative teaching style with strong classroom management.
* A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, sensitive to the unique environment of an all-boys grammar school.
