Applications are invited from registered medical practitioners with a special interest in Elderly Care to work in a 12-month fixed-term post as an Independent Medical Practitioner (GP) with expanded scope. The appointment is for 2 days at Trust Consultant level, based within the Community Hospitals in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. This role is a key part of the older persons inpatient service, providing specialist geriatric medical input into the care of older people in the community hospital setting, working alongside advanced nurse practitioners and multidisciplinary teams. This position has arisen from our interest in developing a geriatric service that addresses the complexities of managing older people at the interface of acute, emergency, and community services.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties and Responsibilities)
You will provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team (MDT), maintain responsibility for patient care and ward functioning, and liaise with GPs, hospital and community specialists, and other relevant agencies.
Your duties will include administrative tasks related to patient care and service management, including prioritising caseloads based on clinical need.
