Your new roleAs Civils Works Manager, you will be responsible for
Overseeing the planning, execution, andpletion of civil engineering projects, such as roads, renewables, and utilities.
Your role will be to manage budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring projects arepleted on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.This role will see you join thepany and benefit from a steady pipeline of work; however you will run the team like your own subcontractor business, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard and client satisfaction is guaranteed. Some responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
2. Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
3. Leading and motivating site teams, including foremen, supervisors, and other construction staff.
4. Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
5. Ensuring all project documentation and quality standards are up to date.
6. Ensuringpliance with health and safety regulations andpany policies.
7. Liaising with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations and address concerns.
What you'll need to succeedThis role will require you to have a strong background in delivering civil engineering schemes, ideally across multiple sectors such as pipelaying, utilities, roads, and windfarms / renewables. It will be suited to a highly driven individual who is well accustomed to a busy environment and has experience of driving projects on at a pace from inception to handover. If you have experience of managing your own business or subcontractingpany, it could be advantageous, as a positive can-do attitude in a busy, fast-paced role will be required. The role will require strong organisational skills, from managing and organising labour and resources, to dealing with clients and stakeholder expectations on a regular basis.You will need to hold a relevant qualification in civil engineering or construction management or have worked your way up from plant / machinery and have all up to date tickets in place. Given the nature of the pace of this position, a strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams will be essential. UK travel will be required with projects based across the region, including Northern Ireland.
