Join Masimo Consumer, home to eight legendary audio brands including Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, and Polk Audio. We’re seeking a Lead Transducer Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong people management skills to drive the development of Bowers & Wilkins world-class audio products—from high-end loudspeakers to cutting-edge headphones and automotive systems.
This is a hybrid management role, with approximately 70% focused on team management and strategic coordination, and 30% on hands-on technical contribution.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead and inspire a small team of transducer engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
* Plan, delegate, and oversee engineering tasks to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
* Champion training initiatives and continuous process improvement.
* Maintain and enhance measurement capabilities and lab facilities.
* Drive complex projects from concept to completion, aligning cross-functional teams and delivering measurable results.
Technical Contribution
* Collaborate with product development teams to support transducer design and testing.
* Perform simulations (electromagnetic, mechanical, acoustical) using tools like COMSOL.
* Conduct measurements and diagnostics on transducer and loudspeaker assemblies.
* Document findings, develop procedures, and contribute to design guidelines.
* Present technical insights clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences
* Mentor engineers in technical writing and visual communication, promoting clarity and precision.
What You Bring
Essential Qualifications
* Degree in Acoustics, Physics, or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
* 5+ years of experience in audio engineering, with prior leadership or management roles.
* Strong knowledge of electrodynamic transducers, including lumped element modeling and distortion diagnostics.
* Working knowledge with COMSOL or equivalent finite element analysis tools, Klippel R&D, and core principles of sound radiation and room acoustics.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Familiarity with Confluence & JIRA
* Familiarity with Klippel QC, SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.
* Exposure to audio/electronics testing tools (e.g., Audio Precision, MLSSA, SoundCheck).
* Understanding of DFMA, DFMEA, and FMEA methodologies.
