Do you want to make a difference in your community? Dial A Ride are looking to appoint a full time driver. The service provides a vital community transport to local residents who can’t access other means of transport. We transport passengers to medical appointments, exercise classes, employment, shopping and social engagements within the Redditch Area. Dial a Ride is a door to door service, ensuring passengers travel safely from their homes to their destination via our minibuses. Applicant must be competent and confident to drive a minibus, including the safe transportation of wheelchair passengers. The role is busy and physically active and there will be some requirement to provide physical assistance to passengers for example pushing wheelchairs, helping passengers on and off the bus and carrying shopping. You must be able to follow a route schedule, which includes individual passenger requirements. Interviews will include some travel on the minibus accompanying a driver on his route. Essential criteria: Good customer service skills with experience of actively working in a front line environment. Experience of working with elderly, disabled, and vulnerable people. Have a full, clean and valid UK driving licence with D1 entitlement. Ability to maintain clear and accurate records. Good basic numeric skills, being able to balance money. Good communications skills Local knowledge of areas and roads Commitment to treating people with dignity and respect, including those from a range of backgrounds. To successfully undergo a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure Desirable: Ability to work to set standards and identify improvements. Ability to work under pressure To act in a confidential and trustworthy manner Have patience and understanding Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
