Job overview
The Electronic Assistive Technology Team (EAT) are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join their team. The role in base din the office at the Bristol Centre for Enablement and provides a support role to the clinical and technical teams. The role co-ordinates appointments, liaises and responds to external healthcare professionals, patients, their families and carers. It also involves ordering equipment, receiving this and adding to the stock and updating the Best electronic database. the role needs to be able to plan appointments and work and also be responsive to the immediate needs of our patients and team.
Main duties of the job
Co-ordination of the EAT Service that has its main base in Bristol with secondary offices/ workshops in Plymouth and Truro; booking appointments, synchronising diaries and arranging work schedules for a busy professional and multi-disciplinary team. Responsible for maintaining computerised database for repair, and maintenance procurement and supply of EAT service. Receiving incoming requests from patients, carers, relatives and other healthcare professionals for repair/replacement of parts and assisting in allocation of daily workloads. Acting as a central referral and contact point for the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT) South West offers specialist assessment, provision and ongoing support of equipment for patients of all ages with a range of medical conditions resulting in physical impairment. The service predominantly focusses on controlling the environment and accessing computer technology. This is delivered by a team of Clinical Scientists and Occupational Therapists, Technicians and administrative support. Mostly based out of the Bristol Centre for Enablement with some staff at our base in Plymouth and another in Truro, we provide a service to patients all across the south west region.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our team. Based in the Bristol office, you will work as part of the administrative team to provide support to the clinical and technical staff both onsite and remotely. This will involve liaising with patients, their families and carers, other health and social care professionals, manufacturers and suppliers.
The successful candidate will be an experienced administrative assistant with excellent organisational and communication skills and an eagerness to contribute to the development of new and innovative services for the benefit of a small but complex patient group. Experience of working within the NHS is desirable however the specialist skills can be taught.
